PRESENTING

602 TOULOUSE ST

COMING MAY 7

800 sq ft
4 rooms*

We are currently working with Brockschmidt & Coleman and Sweet Dupuy & Eugenie Gibbens Interior Design to renovate this space — located in the heart of the French Quarter.

We will unveil this space on May 7, during our annual gala, with our original Musique(s)! exhibition, presented with the support of the Library of Congress (May 7 to June 30, 2025). The space will then close its doors over the summer for further renovation work and will open permanently in September 2025.

All photos were taken pre-renovation work and will be updated as we go (and we do love a good before & after).

* INFORMATION CENTER

This space will include a welcome desk (with a member of staff present during operating hours).

It will also include shelves with a series of free brochures designed by Nous. Each brochure, made available for free, will address an aspect of Francophonie in Louisiana.

* GALLERY SPACE

This space will allow us to present pop-up and digital exhibitions showcasing Louisiana’s creativity.

We’ll start in beauty with our Musique(s) exhibition (May 7 to June 30, 2025), featuring six artists from Louisiana who perpetuate our centuries-long tradition of music performed in French and Creole.

* BOOKSTORE

This space will allow us to sell books in French (literature, essays, and exhibition catalogues from across the French-speaking world). We will also have digital tablets with a selection of newspapers and magazines in French — which will be made available for free.

This will be the only space selling exclusively books in French in Louisiana (and the third in the United States).

* READING ROOM

Envisioned as an extension of our bookstore, gallery space, and information center, this space will include a large table and comfortable armchairs, where our guests will be able to sit down to read our brochures, books, or magazines.

COME TO OUR GALA.

All proceeds will go towards our capital campaign to renovate this space and turn it into a new cultural hub for both locals and visitors (with over 20 million people visiting the French Quarter each year). Learn more about our gala on this page.
